The eternal house hunting chaos and is it possible to cope with it?

House hunting sounds a lot of fun, yeah, you will be visiting different homes, neighborhoods, people, imagining your life there, going ahead and back, you will be on a top of a building, on a balcony in another region, you will be going through different stairs, lifts, places and there are so many things to be explored. This is the adventurous part of the house hunting and it is to some extent so real, but in the everydayness we all have with the pressure of our lifestyles and all the stress we suffer from, the enthusiasm soon dies and so does the free spirit.

And the question that so logically bothers you is can the chaos dwindle and can you make this whole process a lot more pleasant and strict? The answer is “yes” and here are the two simple solutions.

The perfect cleaning motivation

The perfect cleaning motivation

If there is something magical like unicorns and rainbows and love that resist on every hindrance and princes and princesses just like in the fairytales, there would be cleaning motivation, too. But let’s not be deluded and admit that the chance to be motivated and to do the whole end of tenancy cleaning with passion is almost equal to the chance to become the next queen of Wonderland. And we read articles and even books that give us advice to make lists and to be more organized. And yeah, I know, you do your best, we all do and we end up on the sofa with a non-cleaning-tips book and a glass of wine and the life seems so flawless in that particular moment that we cannot ruin it with something so trivial.

And we do not hate the cleaning itself; we hate the idea of spending our whole weekend in the house, and not on the couch, but on our knees in the bathroom with three kinds of rags, detergents so strong that will almost stifle us and so much anger and disappointment.

End of tenancy cleaning: the houseplants

You are one of those people who adore plants and, yes, you have maybe too many of them in your home. But you have no problems taking care of them and watering them at least twice in a week, if they are going to make your home livelier. And in fact the plants are one of the easiest ways of decoration. You need only a beautiful flowerpot that fits the interior design of your whole place and a lovely indoor plant. But now your rent agreement is coming to an end, you need to perform the whole end of tenancy cleaning thing (or better to hire one of the London’s professional cleaners) and your so favorite flowers and plants are creating a kind of situation you have to cope with. Don’t worry; there is still a chance to move them in your new home, where they can make it nice and fresh. Just follow the steps:plants-576104_960_720

Clean them

All the outdoor plants are being cleaned by the rain and the wind, but cleaning those that are at your home is your work. So take a sponge, a simple cloth or an old cotton t-shirt or blouse and take all the dust, grease and oil off the plants. Thus they will grow faster and better, they will photosynthesize easier and will be free of pests. And you only need water; the leaf-cleaning detergent in most of the cases won’t be any more beneficial. If you are in a great hurry but, however, want to take care of the plants, you can even clean them with wet wipes.

Mist them

You should not do it so frequently, but misting them by spraying water from time to time will make them fresher and will help them grow. As we know the air outside is far moister than this at home and this could be sometimes calamitous for the indoor plants.

Prepare them

Before transporting them you better make them more compact by cutting away all the damaged parts and taking off the dried up leaves. These are things that better stay at the old place

Move them

Well, here the situation is a bit more complicated. If you are moving not so far away in the same town, for example, you can simply put the plants in boxes with no covers and transport them with all other boxes and pieces of furniture. A nice idea is to pack the flowerpots with paper or newspaper, so as to be sure that they won’t break while transporting. If you are moving in the winter, however, you have to be more careful. Many of the plants lived originally in tropics or other places with warmer climate and now if you take them outside and the temperature is 10°C, they will most probably get sick and die. So you better move them directly from the house into the car. And if you are moving across the country, you better think one more time if taking the plants with you is a good idea.

Home maintenance: organize your bathroom once and for all

Are you one of those people that keeps everything in the bathroom: shampoos, shower gels and other products, toothbrushes and -paste and towels and make-up stuff, and some electric appliances like curling-irons and hair-drier, and all the hair products, of course, some candles and beautiful objects that completed the design once but now could hardly be seen. Hell, it’s time to organize this place called bathroom once and for all. More →

Here’s a quick way to clean the bathroom

The bathroom is like the hell whilst cleaning. Yeah, we all have been told that if you take care of it on a daily basis, you won’t have any problems cleaning it after tenancy. The ugly truth is that we are always busy, taking a quick shower, brushing our teeth, without even having the chance to look at the mirror, before going to school or to work and we neglect it almost always. So in the reality the only thing we need is a quick way for cleaning this absolute disaster called bathroom.

The bathroom could be a home for too many bacteria, so don’t allow something like this to happen. The most popular disinfecting cleaning product is the bleach. However, there are different types on sale, so try not to choose the cheapest one, because most often it is the most harmful as well. You can, for instance, put bleach in the toilet and then wait for 10 to 15 minutes. Magic.

One of the most annoying places you will have to clean is the space between the tiles. There are detergents that could cope with this part and with cleaning the sink as well. So find only one and avoid buying too many cleaning products. The cleaning itself won’t take you a lot of time.

Don’t forget that you are in the bathroom and here you can use so much water, that you need, here absolutely nothing can go wrong. And water is indeed the best. So after you have used different cleaning products rinse out with water. If you strive for perfection you can clean the mirror with a windows detergent and after everything has dried up, you can use a microfiber cloth and take away every single particle of dust.

What kind of property can you find in Halkidiki?

What kind of property can you find in Halkidiki?

Time has passed, but your desire to spend your holidays at the endless beaches where the time has no meaning and no dimension, where the sun shines beautifully, the skin gets darker and the salty air leaves salty memories, is exactly the same.

You are now planning the purchase, going through your budget and the excerpts from your bank account, when you realize that you know nothing about what kind of house you want to buy.

Who knew that oven-cleaning was so easy?

After every homemade meal arrives that special moment, which makes us scream silently from the inside, yeas, I mean the oven-cleaning. It is sure is not a delight, but as we can all agree, there are far worse things than that. Nowadays, we can prefer to use strong detergents, but there are also more natural products, that easily absorb all kind of fat and burn.13084664213_c86a0035d3

We found a couple of natural chemical liquids that you can prepare alone at home, and actually are pretty good for the purpose that they will be used for. For example – Mix water (1/4 cup), salt (1/4 cup) and baking soda (3/4 cup) into a thick paste. Wipe the oven with a damp cloth and spread the paste over the entire surface. Leave it to act overnight and in the morning wash. This method is most effective when the oven is not too dirty, so clean it regularly. Brown parts and plaque from the oven window can be cleaned, by dissolving baking soda in semi warm water. Put the solution on the surface and leave for 15 minutes. Then you will wipe the contaminated parts much easier. You can also use regular vinegar. Apply a small amount of the liquid on the cooled surface of the oven with a damp cloth and distribute it throughout the area. Give it some time to work. If contaminants are small, will be able to wipe them easily, but they are large, you will be needing a brush.

For every housewife cleaning the stove takes a major part in the main cleaning process, same goes if you are a tenant, and as you will be required to participate in an the end of tenancy cleaning, but our home is just not clean enough without it!
